Outsourcing of back office processes such as data entry services remains one of the easiest functions to outsource as more companies are learning, becoming a popular choice to outsource for various industries.  Back office outsourcing is now seeing increasing adoption among different verticals including the banking and asset management sectors.

Various fields in outsourcing remain in the spotlight with the recent developments in the outsourcing industry showing that fields such as finance and customer relations are at the forefront. But while this is true, it is speculated that upon the passing of the healthcare reform in the United States, it will be outsourcing companies, particularly those in the field of healthcare outsourcing such as companies in medical billing services and software companies in the medical field who will reap the benefits from it. Healthcare Packaging reported that despite a slow movement in the healthcare industry in 2010, the new healthcare legislation will be able to push the industry’s growth to exceed the previous records of growth.

Outsourcing solutions providers have maintained the interest of many professionals and experts on the industry primarily because of its unpredictable movements within the industry. A movement in an industry can be considered to be an indicator of growth, and it is most common that despite having a negative impression, it will lead to something positive for the industry.

When companies found that they could successfully shift operations of call center services to call center outsourcing provider’s years ago, many jumped at the chance, fueling an outsourcing boom to places such as the Philippines and India.  Now however, some companies are choosing to go with an in-house model for call center operations, moving away from the outsourcing trend.

Numerous outsourcing companies released results following the end of the quarter, with Accenture (NYSE:ACN) leading the pack.  It was currency volatility, problems in Europe, and attrition which were some of the major issues that were raised with the release of results.  The general flavor in the outsourcing space has been that business in outsourcing is steadily on the rise with business process outsourcing and IT outsourcing coming into major play, with the big winners being Indian companies, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (NSE:TCS), and HCL Technologies (NSE:HCLTECH), as well as company Xerox Inc (NYSE:XRX).

New deals and renewals in the IT outsourcing space dominated the news last June and July, but other industries also fared well.  In terms of companies, it was company, Accenture (NYSE:ACN), who was able to score multiple deals, signing contracts mostly from the US but also in the UK and China.  Other companies, such as HP, also signed multiple deals.  Here’s a run-down of the notable deals signed last June and July 2010.

TCS (NSE:TCS) CEO N. Chandrasekaran sounded optimistic when he said during an interview that TCS had not seen an impact from the Europe debt crisis among its clients. Particularly since the company’s multi-million dollar UK outsourcing contract with PADA appears to have been in jeopardy for quite some time.
