Genpact, GE Money, HCL, Accenture, Citigroup Global Services, Wells Fargo, Avaya, and AmEx have established a new Indian association called Other Service Providers Association of India (OSPAI). India now has two associations, with NASSCOM being the most well-known and well-regarded offshore industry association. Does this mean these large and respected outsourcing companies are unhappy with Nasscom, will others follow and try to form other competing association?
The Philippines was in the same situation but more recently the Business Process Association of the Philippines (BPAP) has been able to bring many of the other associations under its wings after many years of infighting between the various sectors including CCAP, MTIAPI, PSIA, ACP, Outsource Philippines.
It will be interesting how the two giants of offshoring, the Philippines and India, will collaborate and/or compete in the next few years and whether divergence or industry associations will play a factor.
